The "Healthy Community Development " Mini-Grant was established by the New Jersey Department of Health & Senior Services' Office of Nutrition & Fitness and the NJ Council on Physical Fitness and  Sports.  This office coordinates the statewide partnership for nutrition, physical activity & obesity. In 2010 we had generously been awarded $10,000, which created a schoolyard garden and 2 fitness clusters.

The EJ Garden Team thanks you for your letters of support

The "Healthy Community Development" Mini-Grant's  project goals include:

  • preventing obesity and other associated chronic diseases by focusing

on policy and environment to make healthy choices easier for NJ residents and

  • creating environments where healthy eating and physical activity opportunities are

available, affordable, culturally appropriate and easy.

We would not have been successful without your written responses.

As our "Digging in the Dirt" project starts to grow,  we will continue to value your input.
